He retired from Loring A.F.B. after twenty years of dedicated military service. He was married to Susan E. Reeves on August 6, 1996 and after his military retirement became employed by the Limestone Community Schools and the Maine School of Science and Mathematics as a bus driver and custodian where he was adored by the staff and both past and present students. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine and the American Legion O’Bar-Phair Post Number 127, Limestone. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skydiving, camping, kayaking, bicycling and motorcycling, snow-shoeing, cross country and downhill skiing. He also processed great skill as a mountain climber and climbed Mt. Katahdin on several occasions. One of Stuart’s greatest pleasures was wood burning, constructing the trail signs at the Trafton Lake Recreation Area in Limestone.

He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Susan of Limestone; one daughter, Erin M. Holland; one grandson, Joseph Jon Vollano, both of Connecticut. He also leaves behind many special friends at LCS/MSSM who include; Peter Pederson, Dr. Luke Shorty, Larry Berz, Allyn Bernier, and Noella Bernier; as well as several cousins and extended family members; and community members of the Limestone area. He will also be sadly missed by his several feline companions.
