VIVIAN H. (AKERSON) EVERITT
FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Vivian H. (Akerson) Everitt, 90, wife of the late James S. Everitt III, passed away Tuesday morning December 1, 2020 at a Mars Hill nursing facility, following a period of declining health. She was born April 9, 1930 in Perham, the daughter of Charles and Christina (Dahlin) Akerson.

Vivian attended Woodland schools and was married to James S. Everitt III on July 25, 1952. Vivian was a dedicated homemaker, not only to her biological family, but also to many foster children over the years who shared Vivian and James’ hearts and home. She was a life member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187 Ladies Auxiliary. Having been raised on a farm, Vivian had a lifelong love of the outdoors and loved to garden and can the bounty of her efforts.

In addition to her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband, James; one daughter, Janice Everitt; three brothers, Chester, Milford, and John Akerson; two sisters, Enid and Arlene Akerson. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Donna Everitt of Fort Fairfield; a daughter, Carole Everitt of Portage Lake; a sister, Lula Foss of Fort Fairfield; four grandchildren, Frederick A. Everitt II and his wife Shelley, Nicole Butler, all of Fort Fairfield, Sonya Brown and her husband Chris of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Christopher Everitt of Presque Isle; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Everitt of Fort Fairfield, Meghan Everitt of Presque Isle, Samuel Butler of Fort Fairfield, Emily Everitt of Presque Isle, Shane Sherwood, Nathan Everitt, and Avery Butler, all of Fort Fairfield; one great grandson, Christopher Harold Joseph Ouellette of Presque Isle; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Please wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Everitt to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
