Caswell – Wyona E. “Nonie” O’Neal, 96, wife of the late Omar J. O’Neal, passed away Friday morning, December 3, 2021 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born September 26, 1925 in Stockholm, the daughter of Henry and Mildred (McLaughlin) Bell.

Nonie attended Limestone schools and was married to Omar J. O’Neal on March 11, 1943. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and had been employed as a trimmer at Birdseye Foods for over thirty-five years.

In addition to her parents, Nonie was predeceased by her husband, Omar J. O’Neal on November 6, 2008; one granddaughter, Debra Birkholz; two brothers, Bernard and Clayton Bell; two sisters, Juanita Berube and G. Jeanette Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by one son, Alan O. O’Neal of Caswell; one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie L. and Ernest Weakley of Amsterdam, NY; four grandchildren, David Weakley and his wife Amy of Waiteville, WV, Brian Weakley and his wife Cindy of Groversville, NY, Tim Lagassey and his wife Cathy of Chelmsford, MA, Jamie Eknaian of Wilmington, MA; great grandchildren, Allen and Kayla Weakley, Kyle and Kaitlyn Birkholz, TJ and Austin Legassey, Matthew Eknaian; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Christine Poitras and her husband Steve of Fort Fairfield, and special nephew, Laurin F. “Bud” Finnemore Jr. of Caswell.

A graveside service will be conducted at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone, later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. O’Neal to the charity or organization of one’s choice.
