Fort Fairfield – Cecilia I. Driscoll, 94, wife of the late James G. Driscoll, passed away Wednesday morning, December 8, 2021 at a Houlton nursing facility, following a brief illness. She was born August 3, 1927 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of James and Margaret (McNeal) Estey.

Cecilia was a lifelong communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was married to James G. Driscoll on February 7, 1947. Cecilia had been employed by Russell’s Restaurant in Fort Fairfield for a number of years and also worked as a supervisor at Potato Service in Presque Isle. She had been a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427, Fort Fairfield, a member of the Fort Fairfield Red Hat Society, and the St. Denis Bridge Club. Cecilia enjoyed bowling, cross country skiing, traveling and playing cards.

In addition to her parents, Cecilia was predeceased by her husband James on December 16, 1988; three brothers, Randolf, James, and twin brother Cecil Estey; three sisters, Inez Doughty, Alda Butler and Avis Estey; one grandson, John Thomas Driscoll; one granddaughter, Peggy Sue Driscoll Rooney; one son-in-law, William McBride; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Driscoll.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Gerry J. Driscoll of Presque Isle, Douglas A. and Donna Driscoll of Pittston; one daughter, Margaret “Peggy” McBride of Fort Fairfield; five grandchildren and their spouses, David and Vonda Driscoll, Angela and Jeremy Morland, Sam Driscoll and fiancé Kristian, Janie and Justin Flaherty, Mark and Nicolei McBride; great grandchildren, Kyla, Cidnee, Lydia, Trinity, and Morgan; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday, December 13, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. . Spring interment will take place St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
