Limestone & Fort Fairfield – Lawrence J. Willette, 71, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening May 19, 2022 in Oakfield. He was born August 21, 1950 in Limestone, the son of Walter B. Sr. and Eva M. (King) Willette.

He was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1969, was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1753, Fort Fairfield. Lawrence had been employed by the A & P Processing Plant, later Interstate Foods, Fort Fairfield for a number of years and later worked at McCain Foods, Easton for nineteen years. He also worked at R & J Market, Fort Fairfield for over thirty-two years. Lawrence was an avid sports fan who loved the Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and Giants. He recently discovered his interest in fishing, and adored his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by four brothers, Stanley M. Willette, Walter B. “Junior” Willette Jr., Daniel R. Willette and Gordon J. Willette; two sisters, Theresa Johnscher, Rita Reiff; two brothers-in-law, Robert Stewart and Fred Johnscher.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Kristy Willette of Fort Fairfield, Ryan and Carrie Willette of Glenburn; one daughter, Lauren Willette of South Portland; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald L. Willette and his wife Becky of Old Orchard Beach; three sisters, Clara Cranmer and her husband Dave of Pennsylvania; Lorraine Stewart of South Weymouth, MA; Diane Natishak and her husband Dave of Peru, NY; a sister-in-law, Ellen Willette, of Randolph, MA; seven grandchildren, Braydon and Landon Willette, both of Caribou, Nora Willette and Carson Veinote, both of Glenburn, Kaydence Doughty, Kayla Hawco and Eva Rose Willette, all of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A graveside service will be conducted Friday May 27, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. Those who wish may contribute in Lawrence’s memory to the American Heart Association, Maine Chapter, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
