Fort Fairfield – Gail H. Mazerolle, 84, went to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2022 at the A.R. Gould Hospital, Presque Isle, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. She was born December 23, 1937 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Canam) Dougherty.

In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her husband Peter Mazerolle; sister, Judy McKinnon; brothers, Clayton Thomas, Glenwood, and Milton “Bub” Dougherty; one son, Pvt2 James Mazerolle.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Mazerolle of Standish; her daughters, Nancy Walker and her husband Curtis of Aroostook, New Brunswick, Rachel Ashworth-Mazerolle and her wife Christy of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Anthony Mazerolle, Jenny Plummer, Zachary and Ethan Walker, Claudette and Hunter Mazerolle;sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Alden Armour of Houlton; brother and sister-in-law, Graydon and Shirley Dougherty of Presque Isle; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gail’s life was dedicated to the service of her Lord, and is now resting in His arms. She loved her church family and being under the leadership of Rev. Ronald and Linda Doughty. Gail portrayed an unconditional love for her children, which she displayed by example and perseverance. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible and was always faithful to the House of the Lord. She also enjoyed playing scrabble and skip-bo at which she was very competitive. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all who knew her.

Friends may call Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Doughty officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will take place after the interment at the church reception area. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Gail to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
