MICHAEL W. BOWES
FORT FAIRFIELD
Fort Fairfield – Michael W. Bowes, 68, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, October 14, 2022 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born October 2, 1954 in Toronto, Ontario, the son of William C. and June L. (Currier) Bowes.
Michael served with the United States Air Force from November 1972 to October 1974 as an aircraft repairman. William was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He deeply loved his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by one sister, Susan Bowes of Fort Fairfield; one nephew, Christopher Bowes and his wife Tracy of Stoneham, MA; two nieces, Tracy Bowes of Fort Fairfield, Michelle Bowes of Caribou; five great nieces and nephews, Joshua, Danielle, Saige, Madison, and Riley.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no public services. Private interment will take place at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Bowes to the Maine Veterans Home Memorial Fund, 163 Van Buren Road, Suite 2, Caribou, Maine 04736. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
