JAMES D. GARRISON
FORT FAIRFIELD & DAYTON, OHIO

Fort Fairfield & Dayton, Ohio – James D. Garrison, 69, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday morning, February 5, 2023 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born November 16, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Lewis and Patricia (Garrity) Garrison.

James was a graduate of Stivers High School, Dayton, Ohio, Class of 1971. James served his country as a radio operator with the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and furthered his education at the Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle, receiving his degree as a registered nurse. James had been employed as a traveling nurse throughout Maine at several locations including Togus Veterans Hospitals and the Mars Hill Health Clinic. He was a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Fort Fairfield and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking. James was a lover of all types of music, and was a trombone player.

He was predeceased by his father, Lewis Garrison; one brother, John Garrison. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Garrison; one sister, Katherine Garrison and her companion Dennis Allen, all of Englewood, OH; one brother, Lawrence D. Garrison of Orr City, TX; one niece, Natasha Gober of Dayton, OH.

James will be interred at the Veterans National Cemetery, Dayton OH at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in memory of James to the Maine Veterans Home, 163 Van Buren Road, Suite 2, Caribou, Maine 04736. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
