Caribou & Fort Fairfield – Kendell D. Landeen, 76, husband of Darlene M. (McEwen) Landeen, passed away Wednesday morning, February 22, 2023 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born November 12, 1946 in Woodland, the son of Harold and Oleta (Greene) Landeen.

Kendell attended Woodland schools and had been employed by Herbie Ketch Farms, Woodland and Parker K. Bailey and Sons Moving Company, Presque Isle for many years. He was married to Darlene M. McEwen on April 27, 1971 and enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing, and puttering away on anything mechanical that needed repair, and also loved watching western movies.

In addition to his parents, Kendell was predeceased by one brother Harold “Bub” Landeen; two sisters, Geraldine McEwen and Helen Widdecombe. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Darlene M. Landeen of Fort Fairfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Kimberly Landeen of Bainbridge, GA, Shawn and Tammy Landeen of Caribou; one daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Kevin Donnelly of Manchester, NH; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Kendell’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Interment will take place at a later date at the Woodland Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Kendell to the Jefferson Cary Foundation, P.O. Box 89, Caribou, Maine 04736.
