Fort Fairfield – Jane O. Rogers, 79, wife of the late John R. Rogers, passed away Wednesday evening, March 15, 2023 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born October 16, 1943 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Clyde J. and Lelia E. (Hitchcock) Cyr.

Jane attended Fort Fairfield schools and was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield for many years. She was married to John R. Rogers on October 26, 1974 and had been employed for many years at the former A & P Processing Plant, later Interstate Foods, retiring from A.C.P. Foods, Fort Fairfield. Jane was very active in her church, and enjoyed cooking, playing cards and time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband, John on June 1, 1992; three brothers, Clyde F. Cyr, David F. Cyr and Daniel R. Cyr; five sisters, Ruth Adams, Linda Albert, Rebecca Gallop, Rachel M. Plummer and Ruby French.

She is survived by three sons, Wayne G. Adams, Kirk M. Adams and his wife Julie, Shawn R. Rogers and his wife Heather; one daughter, Kimberly E. Clark and her husband David, all of Fort Fairfield; grandchildren, Kira Rogers, Josie Adams, Shannon Rossignol, Kelsey Towle, Ian Towle; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Ginnette Cyr of Sumter, S.C.; several nieces and nephews, including the remaining members of the “Fabulous Five” Dortha, Pam, Karen and Katherine; special friends, Carol Ricker, Sharon Dorsey, Ella Leighton, Natalie Foster, and Marsha Langley, all of Fort Fairfield; three great grandchildren, Caspian, Ace, and Isaac Rossignol.

Jane’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Cary Medical Center, the Fort Fairfield Ambulance Service, and the doctors and staff of Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital A.C.U. and I.C.U for the wonderful care given to her during her illness.

Friends may call Monday, March 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday March 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 170 Main Street, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will take place after the service in the church reception area. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Rogers to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, c/o Gloria Towle, 645 Houlton Road, Easton, Maine 04740.
