FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Scott A. Ketch, 65, husband of Debra J. (DeMerchant) Ketch, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 28, 2023 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born May 23, 1958 in Caribou, the son of Hardie L. and Glenda A. (Greenier) Ketch.

Scott was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1976 and had been self-employed as a potato farmer for many years, and also assisted other area farmers, most recently Griffeth Farms in Fort Fairfield. Scott enjoyed country rides, hunting, fishing, trips to the North Maine Woods, especially Munsungan Lake and Moosehead Lake. He was also an accomplished gardener and was especially proud of his annual flowers and pumpkins crops. Scott was self-proclaimed as a “Pretty Good Golfer” and looked forward to his family’s yearly mini golf tournament at Goughan’s Berry Farm. Scott’s proudest accomplishment was his family and his daughters Ashley and Amanda are forever “Daddy’s Little Girls!!”.

Scott was predeceased by his mother, Glenda A. Ketch. He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Debra J. Ketch; two daughters, Ashley L. Ketch and Amanda L. Ketch; his father, Hardie L. Ketch; one sister and brother-in-law, D’Ann and Tom Rochford, all of Fort Fairfield; two nephews, Philip L. Rochford II, Matthew T. Rochford and his wife Keiza, all of Fort Fairfield; two nieces, Jaime Lynch of Fort Fairfield, Tiana McDougal of Corinth; one great nephew, Leo Lynch of Fort Fairfield. He also leaves behind many friends, too numerous to list.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be private. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Ketch to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 24 Cross Street, Presque Isle, Maine 04769 or to the animal or conservation charity of one’s choice.
