FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Joseph I. LeBlanc, 89, husband of Aldea G. (Despres) LeBlanc, passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 at Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born January 31, 1935 in Moncton, New Brunswick, the son of Alfred and Christina LeBlanc.

Joseph was a graduate of the Moncton, N.B. High/Technical School where he excelled in Diesel Mechanics. He was married to Aldea G. Despres on September 27, 1957 and enjoyed a thirty-four year career with U.P.S., Presque Isle as a mechanic. Joseph will be remembered as a wonderful husband and an outstanding father who always put others before himself. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, travel and snowmobile, and especially loved his grandchildren. Joseph was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1753, Fort Fairfield, and a member of the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by five brothers, Jacques, Paul, Armand, Rene and Bernard LeBlanc; one sister, Eva Christie. He is survived by his wife Aldea of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Paul LeBlanc and his companion Kimbley Johnson of Phippsburg, Richard “Rick” LeBlanc and his wife Christy of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Claudette Robichaud and her husband Yvon of Gerry, New Brunswick, Deborah Guimond of Fort Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Sophie and Jonah LeBlanc, Alyssa and Melanie Guimond, all of Fort Fairfield, Sonia Robichaud, Chanti Garrett of St. John, New Brunswick, Caleb Robichaud of Fredricton, New Brunswick; three great grandchildren, Norah Cyr, Henley and Kova Garrett; close friend, Paul Cote of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. LeBlanc to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
