Fort Fairfield - Doris W. Foss, 85, wife of the late Leslie G. Foss, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, August 27, 2023 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born September 23, 1937 in Bitterfeld, Germany, the daughter of Peter and Wilma (Andres) Beckhausen.

She received her elementary and High School education in Germany where she also attended Dental school. Doris and her children immigrated to the United States in 1963 and was a member of the Phoenix, AZ chapter of the German-American Club. Doris enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii on two occasions. She also was fond of animals and greatly loved her family.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Leslie on April 9, 1999; two sons, Dale McGillan and Olaf Beckhausen; one brother, Theodore Beckhausen. She is survived by four sons, Doug McGillan of Palm Springs, CA, Michael McGillan and his wife Sherry of Buckeye, AZ, Peter McGillan and his wife Ann of Gorham, Frank McGillan of Toronto, ONT; two daughters, Denise Evans and her husband Butch of Carlingford, NB, Michelle Pelkey of Kitchener, ONT; one brother, Charles Andres of Zell, Germany, one sister, Ingrid Molitor and her husband Manfred of Quierschied, Germany; several grandchildren, great grandchildren including a special granddaughter Erica Evans of Tinker, NB; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Doris' wishes, there will be no services. She will be interred with her husband Leslie at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Doris to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross St. Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
