Fort Fairfield - Louise Ann Saucier, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 29, 2024, at The Lantern, Morning Pointe at Spring Hill, Tennessee. She was born in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada on February 20, 1945, the daughter of Ferdinand and Claudia (Bosse) Lizotte.

She was married to Gerald Saucier of Fort Fairfield on June 17, 1961 in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada. Louise was very active in her community doing volunteer work at the food cupboard, member of the Daughter’s of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427, Fort Fairfield and Sunshine Club. She was also a member of RSVP and through this organization knitted countless mittens for children in our community. She was a communicant and devoted member of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. Louise started her career in the cafeteria at Fort Fairfield High School and then worked at the IGA for 30+ years where she was instrumental in the start up and management of the bakery/deli. Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved to cook, knit, sew, garden, and walk around Fort Fairfield and talk to everyone she met along the way. Louise loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. This was a time that brought the greatest joy and the biggest smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters, Rita, Claude, Jean Guy, Leon, Ferdinand, Zita, Ernest, Donald, Agnes. Louise is survived by her husband, Gerald Saucier of Spring Hill, TN: one daughter, Louann Cook of Mars Hill and her fiancé, Maurice McCrum; two sons, Tom and wife Penny Saucier of Columbia, Tennessee, Dale and his wife Juliana of Franklin, Indiana; several grandchildren, Ryan and wife Megan Cook, Josh Cook of Maine, Andrew and wife Leigh Ann, Justin and wife Brooke, and Evan and fiancé Audrey of Tennessee, and Jordan, Zachary and Jacob of Indiana; three great grandchildren, Ellie Louise Cook, Henry Cooper Cook and Charlotte Louise Saucier; Joel Cook, father of Ryan and Josh Cook; siblings, Emma and Yvon; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 247 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Council No. 1753, 260 Main Street, Fort Fairfield following the interment.
