FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Michael A. Edgecomb, 65, husband of Karen E. (Banks) Edgecomb, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a brave battle with cancer. He was born June 30, 1958 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Burnice E. Jr. and Betty A. (Mortensen) Edgecomb.

Mike was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1976 and was married to his wife, Karen on August 28, 1981. He farmed for many years, drove truck for multiple area businesses, enjoyed carpentry and was always willing to help others. Mike took great pride in perfecting his lawn and enjoyed time with his entire family. He was also a past president of the Fort Fairfield Snowmobile Club.

In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by one brother-in-law, Ronald Sites. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Karen Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield; three sons, Brian Edgecomb of Presque Isle, Keith Edgecomb and his wife Randi of Hampden, Michael Edgecomb II and his wife Christine of Presque Isle; three grandchildren, Maggie and Ellie Edgecomb, both of Hampden, Parker Edgecomb of Presque Isle; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Rose Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Diane Sites of Mapleton; two brothers-in-law, Stephen Banks and his wife Krista of Pensacola, FL, Rick Wyman and his wife Denise of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews. Mike also leaves behind his dog, Rudy; and grand-dogs, Gronk and Beau; and his Strickland Road neighbors.

The Edgecomb family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Northern Light Cancer Care and the Aroostook House of Comfort for the exceptional care provided to Mike during his illness.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately following the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Mike’s memory to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
