LINDA ROSE (BULL) DAVIS
CASWELL

Caswell – Linda Rose (Bull) Davis, 83, wife of Harold G. “Bun” Davis, passed gently into the arms of her Lord on March 9, 2024. She was born June 24, 1940 in Washburn, to Arden E. and Edith C. (Colin) Bull. Her parents raised her in the Christian faith and she remained devout her whole life.

Linda attended Washburn schools from 1946 to 1958. Following high school graduation, she entered Berkshire Christian College, Oxford, MA in the fall of 1958. She completed one year there before following her dream of becoming a nurse and transferring to New England Baptist School of Nursing in Boston, MA. While in nursing school, Linda completed many practicum as part of her education, but none were as profoundly moving as her rounds in a polio ward where she observed patients young and old attached to iron lung machines. After that and other experiences, Linda became determined to be the best nurse she could be. As her profession unfolded, she certainly achieved that goal. Linda graduated from New England Baptist School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1963. Following graduation, Linda joined a couple of classmates in becoming new nurses at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, New Hampshire.

After three years and missing her home in Northern Maine, she applied and was accepted as a nurse at A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle (now Northern Light A.R. Gould) and returned to her roots. In 1967, she rekindled a friendship with and married Harold Good, a longtime family friend. They moved to and settled in Bristol, CT where Linda worked as a Public Health Nurse and together they raised their only child Edward Burden Good. Following Harold’s death in 1982, Linda and son returned to Northern Maine where Linda became employed at Fort Fairfield Community General Hospital.

In 1985, Linda became reacquainted with a family friend at her parent’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. On July 3, 1987, she married Harold “Bun” Davis who had known the Bull family for decades. They settled in nearby Caswell and Linda soon took a job at the Van Buren Hospital as Staff RN until its closure. She was than employed at the Fort Fairfield Health Clinic as an Infectious Control Nurse. She was nominated president to Who’s Who In American Nurses in 1990-1991 and became Director of Nursing in 1997. She retired from her management position at the hospital’s Mars Hill Continuing Care Unit in 2002. Over the years, Linda trained several nurses and other healthcare staff and was known for her high standard of care and boundless compassion for patients, residents and staff alike. Linda was active in the Caswell community and was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Caswell Ladies Home Extension member, Caswell School Board member 2004-2014 and Caswell Health Officer 1993-2008.

Linda was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Good; stepdaughter, Rita (Davis) “Sis” Martin; older brother, Peter Arden Bull, and younger brother, Eric Colin Bull.
